Postponement of opening date

Dear Parents,

 

Please accept our sincere apologies; due to unforeseen circumstances, Mini Explorers Childcare is currently unable to open on September 2nd 2021.

We understand that both parents and children will be disappointed and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

As parents are aware, we are a new nursery awaiting CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) registration: as part of this process certified planning permission is required.

​

Our nursery is a converted building and our application for Change of Use was submitted to Ceredigion County Council Planning Department at the beginning of the year. Since then, NRW (National Resources Wales) has raised national concerns regarding the high levels of phosphates in the River Teifi and this has affected how Ceredigion County Council (and other Local Authorities) process applications.

Mini Explorers Childcare prides itself on being environmentally conscientious and has designed our nursery to have minimal impact on the environment. We fully support and promote the protection of all habitats and recognize the irony in our current situation.

Please be assured we have employed specialist advisors to assist us in this area and are doing everything in our power to move forward in this situation. Unfortunately, until the local authority alter their position, we cannot complete our CIW registration. Additionally, we are unable to provide parents with a date on which we can open the nursery.

This unprecedented situation is affecting the majority of applications submitted to the local planning department and we hope that like other local authorities, Ceredigion County Council will allow those with negligible impact on phosphate levels to proceed.

Again, we wholeheartedly apologize to all parents and please feel free to get in touch to discuss this further. As soon as the County Council allow the planning department to proceed with applications, we hope to swiftly progress, gain CIW registration, and open our doors!
